About the project
NSWFHA is currently developing and delivering online the compulsory units of the Diploma of Social Housing as part of an Australian Flexible Learning framework funded project to integrate e-learning into the community housing industry.
About the Diploma of Social Housing
In order to complete the Diploma of Social Housing participants must complete 18 units:

Pre-requisitesYou need to either to have completed the following 3 units from the Certificate IV in Social Housing qualification:
- Work effectively in social housing CHCCH301A
- Manage and maintain tenancy agreements and services CHCCH410A
- Work effectively with people experiencing or at risk of homelessness CHCCH427A

You need to have sufficient relevant experience and knowledge of social housing work to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving:
- The application of knowledge with depth in some areas and demonstration of a broad range of technical and other skills
- A wide range of tasks and roles in a variety of contexts, with complexity in the range and choices of actions required
- The exercise of discretionary judgement and decision making under general guidance

Pathway options for completing the Diploma of Social HousingNSWFHA is investigating partnership arrangements with other community service providers who offer units that make up the Diploma in Social Housing.
The Mental Health Co-ordinating Council (MHCC)
The Mental Health Co-ordinating Council (MHCC) offers the Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management CHC60308. By completing this qualification through MHCC you not only complete the elective unit requirements for the Diploma in Social Housing but you also attain the Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management. You therefore end up with 2 qualifications – both a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma.
MHCC offer a choice of dates throughout the year for undertaking the Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management with 2 delivery options - either a basic or an ‘Express’ course depending on your experience in leadership.
