Step by step guide to planning for future workforce needs in the public sector. The guide covers HR planning, ideas on strategies for recruitment training, leadership development, succession planning and mentoring. It also provides a framework for a structured, evidence based approach to HR planning and workforce development. The guide also describes the need to link HR planning and workforce development into strategic planning processes. See Appendix A for an integrated strategic HR planning framework.

This website provides a suite of resources and guides to support NSW Government agencies to apply the Capability Framework. It is a valuable tool to assist with job design and position descriptions and in setting the right selection criteria.
